Crianza Ramirez de la Piscina

Year 2004, 90 points
Opinion: International Wine Cellar Cherry-vanilla, dried flowers and tobacco on the nose, with a subtle mineral undertone. Fleshy red berry flavors are gently framed by toasty oak tannins but there's no dryness. A silky, sweet, nicely balanced wine with finishing notes of red berry preserves and sexy oak. An impressive example of old-school Rioja. This would be fantastic with grilled lamb.
Score: 90.
Reserva Ramirez de la Piscina
Year 2001, 89 points
Opinion: Medium red. Earthy red fruit, floral and underbrush aromas, with a strong lashing of vanillin oak. Sweet raspberry and kirsch flavors offer impressive depth, with a chewy texture and a long, velvety finish. Distinctly oaky, but there's ample fruit to back it up.

Seleccion Ramirez de la Piscina

Opinion:
Dark red. Seductively aromatic nose offers an array of fresh and dried red fruits along with pungent florality. Slow to open, displaying suave strawberry and bitter cherry flavors and a sweet vanillin oak character. Gains a peppery quality on the impressively long, juicy finish.
